While trying to deleted pics from my Mac I accidentally deleted pics I want. Now when I go into iPhoto there is a box where the pic should be mad if I click on it an X appears. Is there a way to get these back? Is there a way to put the pics I do want onto a USB and them reset the Mac to factory settings so that all pics and files I don't want are permanently deleted??

As long as you didn't empty your iPhoto Trash, your pictures are still there. Click on the small Trash icon in iPhoto and then drag your photos back to the photo library.
