I'm very new to imovie.

I have imported still photographs and video from cameras, and they all appear in iphoto.

When I go to iMovie to make a movie (still learning), I start by hitting IMPORT button. This is where my problem starts, although there are pictures and video within iphoto, they cannot be found when trying to import.

Can someone please advise me why and what, if anything I am doing wrong.

If you're using the latest iMovie, then don't use the import button, just click on iPhoto Library in the sidebar and just drag in the pictures that you want in your Project.
