Since uploading Mavericks, streaming is degraded. I installed Java updates today, but, with Mavericks, I cannot even find the Macintosh HD icon in the Finder so that I can find Library and Plug-ins.

I think the streaming thing bothers me the most right now. Any help straightening this out would be appreciated.

EDIT: I found Macintosh HD --> Library --> Internet Plug-ins --> JavaAppletPlugin.

I am running Java 7 Update 55. Installed today.

Streaming (as in music or video) usually has little or nothing to do with Java. Have you updated your Flash?

Okay. I did that 2 mins ago. Now I have Flash Player 13. I'll find out later today and tomorrow how it goes with streaming.

Thank you for the help.

Marrk one was supposed to uninstall Flash Player, then download and install the latest 13.0.0.206 version. If you have problems get the uninstaller. Do not let Flash Player change your System Preferences to 'Allow Adobe to Install Update'. Leave it at Notify Me.

Uh-oh.

Well, I'm going to let things be for a day or two. If there's more trouble, it may be easier for me to buy a new MacBookPro. I've had this one since 2010. Maybe that's the **** problem.
