So there are 2 imacs on craigslist i am considering getting
If I meet this weekend, the guy will do 250$.
This one needs a new front glass screen cover, which is 60$, and I could easily put in myself. It has a few scratches and a minor ding in the corner. So about 310$ total for a slightly dinged up mac. The specs are:
650gb storage, 24 inch, 2.66ghz I3, 4gb RAM

The other is 400$
It's a 2010, in good condition, doesnt need a new screen cover.
8gb ram 3.06ghz i3 processor, 500gb storage , 21 inch.

So is the smaller, better condition, and slightly newer one worth 90$ more?
Or should I get the slightly older, slightly beat up, but larger screen imac for 90$ less?
Or should I wait for a better deal?

OR... Should I get both and just sell one? I could buy the one that needs a new screen, fix it, then re-sell it for a profit. I would be 310$ into it after a screen installation and I could probably sell it for at least 400. What do you guys think?

Too many "OR's"!;)

Get the 21" (8gig of ram is nice)...but try to negotiate down from the $400.:)

p.s. Hard to say if you should wait. Don't know how long you've been looking...what your budget is...or how often something decent at a good price pops up in your area.

500$ is really top of the line for me, not sure if I would be able to get him down from 400$ but I could try.
Do you think it would be worth my time to repair and re-sell the one that needs a screen? I would want to make at least a 100$ profit so i'd need to sell it for at least 410$

The $400 iMac but it is too dear. Maybe $325-350.

BTW, it's $ (or indeed £) first, then the amount, not the other way round ;D

I would of those two machines go with the 21" one. If the 24 has dings and the glass is broken, it could have very well fallen and have other possible damage inside.

Very good point!
