Microsoft Document Connection

I see this in the Dock on the computer I'm using. I don't have it on my computer, but I do have Office 2011. Just wondering what it is, would I use it, and how do I find it. Thanks.

Ok then! Thanks. I don't have a need for that, which is what I expected to discover. Maybe it's useful for on the job for some people, but a little fancy for casual users from home.

I also can't find an icon for Microsoft Autoupdate (Office 2011) either here or on my computer at home. I ran it from the menu, and pinned it to the Dock. But where it resides is a mystery to me.

You can only run it from the menu; you can not pin it to the dock. Besides, why even do it if you have autoupdate selected?

You can pin it to the Dock. Just do it when it's open like I did. Yes, I have a scan scheduled. However, I ran it sooner after you or someone posted about the latest update due to the fact that I was leaving town for a week, that's why.

Yeah, I guess you can pin it to the Dock when it runs. But like I said, it runs automatically so why bother? However, you can run it manually anytime you want right from Word, Excel, or Powerpoint. Word, Help, "check for updates". (That will place the icon in your Dock where you can select to pin it there.)

I don't have it in the Dock, but it is where I can get to it (an alias).

I thought I answered that question. I guess I just got used to it having its own icon in 2004. It's a matter of personal preference.
