Migrated pic files

When I migrated my PC files and pics to my new iMac, everything seemed to transfer seamlessly. The one issue I have is the original file date. For the data files, they kept the original dates in tact. However, all of the pictures transferred with the date of transfer for both the modified and original dates. Can this be fixed, or do I need to re-migrate with a different procedure? Thanks.

Do you need the file dates or the EXIF data? That hasn't changed.

Programs like iPhoto read the EXIF information for determining chronology and so forth, so if the EXIF data has been preserved then the file date is not an issue.
