My latch light will not go off, and the bright little light is really annoying me! Any idea how to fix this? It's a 15 inch Powerbook if that helps...

Yes, I've restarted and then now I shut down for a few hours, came back, and it's still doing it. If I move down the monitor it flickers at different points...

Sounds like a loose wire...or is the latch coming all the way back out when you let the lid up?

depending on the severity the people at the apple store will be able to fix it for you.. if it is more severe they will have to ship it back to apple to have it repaired.

until then, i would suggest you buy a lot of post-it notes, cut most of the bottom off and then place it over the offending light...should leave no residue.

or heck, put a bandaid on your books injury ;)
(dont actually do that it will leave a sticky mess)

Haha yeah, right now I have a tin of mints and a pack of game stacked in the front of my computer to block it out. Sounds like it'd get it the way, but it's working so far!
