Problem playing a DVD

I have a Power PC guitar instructional DVD I purchased today and am not able to play it on my 10.9 Macbook Pro. Is there any way I can get it to play without using a virtual instance of Snow Leopard?

Unfortunately, no. I would return the DVD and look for one that was up to date that can be run without the use of Rosetta.
