using time machine to remove mac keeper and others

if i restore my macbook air back to a date prior to loading files i want to remove (mac keeper and (in ERROR) a thing called genie) can i still come forward to todays date to add in some current documents and pictures i have added? newbie

That should work. You didn't say what version of OSX, so we can't help with the exact steps, but in theory, restoring from before the two installs and then selectively restoring more current versions of your documents and pictures should get to a clean version of the system with those two offenders gone.

Wouldn't it be easier to use the respective uninstallers?

i used the uninstaller on the Genieo but it is still there! it seems to be a malware program from Israel
