I have a mac desktop about 4years old. It has maverick installed. Last night I was working in iphoto and went off to bed leaving it on. Something dropped on the keyboard and it brought all my photos over in a tile formation (approx 11000) onto my desktop. I force quit to shut down as I could not do anything on it. The mouse can move over the screen but not open anything. I have tried opening with the "s" key but no avail. Please any help cheers Maureen

If I understand this correctly... you have 11,000 photos moved to your desktop? Ouch. I don't know what you mean by "'opening with the "s" key'". Try rebooting in Safe Mode. If successful, delete everything off the desktop.
