So I bought new USB cable and my Power Shot A40 still will not show on my screen after I turn it on, set it up and do everything I've always done! What's up with that?
Thanks

Power Shot A 40 not showing on Mac OS X.

Not sure that I posted correctly.
I have a Mac OS X 10.9.2 and my Power Shot has begun not showing on my screen when I hook it up as it has in the past. So, I bought new USB cable and set it up again - still not showing up on the screen!!! Any ideas??
Thanks tons for any suggestions.

Make sure your Canon Power Shot camera is turned on. I don't know whether Canon uses a special USB cable from the camera to the computer USB port, but if you purchased a new cable and it still doesn't work, then we can assume that part is OK. Some cameras have a setting that must be selected when attached to a computer. I don't know if your Power Shot has that or not. Also, did you try plugging the cable into a different port?
