Hi,

When I went to restore my iPhone through iTunes, I had a Error 3194 code. I followed the instructions on the Apple site that tells me to edit my hosts file. (Link here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4451) When I followed the instructions and opened Sudo in terminal, the box was empty. The top did say I was in File: /private/etc/hosts, but nothing was there at all. Then I tried Go to Folder: /private/etc/hosts and then it says "The folder cannot be found."

Am I doing something wrong? Did something get deleted?? Might be a stupid question...

Thanks!

Did you enter this command correctly?

sudo nano /private/etc/hosts

The reason Apple says to check your hosts file is that if the Apple update server is listed as blocked, putting a # in front of the entry will null it out. (unblock it)
