I currently have MS Office on my iMac and Macbook.

However my daughter now needs access to Publisher for her school work so I am going to get an Office 365 subscription.

How do I go about completely deactivating and removing my current Office package so I can sell it on?

Is it just a case of dragging to the trash or do I need to go through the fun of speaking to MS customer services to get my product key de-activated?

Thanks, Nick

MS Office has an uninstaller. If you have your original media you can load it up and you will have a remove option. This is the best way to remove it.

Mac Office 2008 comes with an uninstaller, unfortunately Office 2011 does not. Follow these specific instructions from Microsoft to uninstall: LINK

AppZapper or AppDelete will not work to remove Office 2011.

Note - there is no version of Publisher for the Mac so if you're getting 365 in the hopes of getting Publisher for your Mac, you'll want to reconsider.

Good point Van. I assumed member "nickyr" would be using a PC or rather his daughter would. It's too bad that MS never released a version of Publisher for the Mac although there are alternatives for the Mac which in my opinion are better.
