transferring movies onto USB

I transferred my (downloaded) movies onto USB from my mac desktop OS X no worries but when I went to watch on my TV the movie had been split up into 3 files/folders. Why is this?

You're not quite giving us enough info. Size of the movie? Did you use some application to export/save the movie? Do you mean USB flash drive? What is the format of the USB drive? FAT32? or Mac HFS+?
