I've just replaced my old iMac with a new iMac, which has OS 10.8.3, the old one had Snow Leopard and I have been using a 2005 version of Quicken. The new OS doesn't support the older Quicken but I want to transfer years of my check register to the new imac. Is my only option buying the very latest version of Quicken? Is there an older version (but newer than my 2005) that will work? Is there any other similar program that will allow me to transfer my info from Quicken? Thanks for your help.

I dumped Quicken when Intuit made the announcement that they weren't going to migrate.

I switched over to Moneydance, which will not only read your Quicken files but is multi-platform and a breeze to use.

What exactly were you using from Quicken 2005? If it was just the checkbook and bank functions, there are many apps which work just as well. One already mentioned above is Moneydance but there are others.
