new operating systems

i have to install a new operating systems on a separate HD
how schould i proceed

Yikes...your post is very very short on information.

- What/where is this hard drive located?
- What OS version are you trying to install?
- What computer model are using to OS install from?
- What OS version is this computer running?
- What computer model is this hard drive (which the OS is being installed on)...going to be used with?

A lot of these questions concern OS compatibility.

Well, I would say by providing more information: 1) Is the HD in a computer - old, replacement, extra one? 2) What OS do you need to install and why, again new HD, OS upgrade, etc? Might also provide some specs on your other Apple equipment. Dave
