I have no idea if this is the correct place for this so I appologise if it's in the wrong place.

Just recently I have had a web site appear. It opens its own tab and all there is in the tab is shown below. I have no idea how it started and as far as I know I have never visited the site before. It will interupt anything that I am doing and switches to Firefox and opens a new tab. It is incredible annoying. There is no way that I can see to get rid of the blasted thing and there's no way I will open it up any further.

Please, has anyone any ideas what it is, where it came from and how I kick it into touch?

Have you cleared cache and history in your browser preferences?

Check your add-ons. Something got installed, possibly without your knowledge.

1) only you, since you haven't shared that with us
2) the URL might give a clue
3) depends on 1 and 2

This is the complete url http:kaboomit.com/widget/hssad435x95 I have knocked out the 2 forward slashes to make it non active, I hope?

The only other user is my OH and she doesn't go looking at strange sites. I am the only one who does any maintainence on the system. No children in the house, just us 2.

I hope this helps Tom. It popped up again just as I opened this thread a few minutes ago. All there is is what I posted above and it sits right up in the top right of the open window.

Kaboomit is a chat app. Have you ever installed it? it may have left something behind if you tried to uninstall it improperly.

It hasn't been installed to my knowledge Craig?

It doesn't show up on the Firefox Aplications in Preferences either?

It doesn't show on a search of my MacHD in Finder either?

It's either:
some kind of pop-up, in which case Adblock isn't working correctly
You need to empty the cache
or something installed something without your knowledge.

Go to Tools, click on AdblockPlus and select filter preferences. Un-check 'allow some non-intrusive advertising' and see if it goes away.

Now Craig, I have found this

And disabled the 3 boxes. Now I will wait and see if it comes back, but I would love to know just where it came from.

Thank you Craig.

Actually I meant this one, which I don't see on your shot. Which version of Adblock are you using?
If you disabled the boxes you enabled the ads.
