I will be updating 10.5.8 to snow leopard on my IMAC, and I am inquiring if I have to reinstall my CS3 suite, or if I can even use CS3 at all on Snow Leopard, that would surely screw me over, thanks in advance.

As the article states turn on Rosetta. Personally have found at times Adobe and MS Office does require re-activation after using Migration Assistant. Back up Leopard first to an external drive for safety.

Adobe CS3 does not require Rosetta. I have it running on OS X 10.9.2 just fine.

(the INSTALLER for Adobe CS3, ironically, requires Rosetta! *facepalm*)

That was the case with Office 2008 as well. This is the difficulty with software that seems to rely on Rosetta to run properly (Office 2008 runs beautifully once installed however).
