GarageBand - Can't hear through headphones when trying to record

I am using an iMic. Outputs and inputs are correct. The monitor is on. It won't record.

Movingon...first of all you need to post this in a more appropriate forum. Next, we will need your computer specs, OS, recording set up, signal path, etc. In othe words, you're going to have to tell us alot of background stuff before we can even begin to help. We know nothing at all about your set up or situation.
