Friend had Apple set up her MacBook Air. She now has all of her contacts listed twice, as they were pulled from her iPhone, and she can't delete them. Suggestions please?

Does she have iCloud set up? I suspect that the contacts are being synched through both iCloud and when she synchs the phone by wire. This article should help with that.

You're welcome. Let us know if that solves the problem. I think there are other possible reasons for duplicate contacts but this seems to be the most common one.

Hey Sly... Thanks for the link. When I first received my iPhone 5c I couldn't figure a way to get the contacts from my dumb phone to the 5c. So I decided to export using VCF card format to my contacts app on the iMac. And magically they then appeared on the iPhone but with all the same mistakes and dupes. I managed to figure it out, but if I was smart enough I would have accessed the Apple KB first. That's what happens when you give a dumb guy a smart phone. ;P

I did the same thing when I got my first iPhone. I had contacts on my Mac from a Palm phone. Drove me nuts for a while till I found the fix. Before I got things solved I had triplicates of some contacts.

Had the same problem when I made the move to iCloud. Several years of Calendar duplicates. In some cases there were triplicates of events I thought had been long sends deleted. Every time I tried to convert from MobileMe to iCloud it generated an error. Took the Apple support guys a day or two to figure that one out.
