Slowing down again!

Hi folks. Mac Book Pro 15" Retina. Upgraded to OS.x Maverick a few weeks ago all very poleaxed but now, once again the Pro is getting very slow. I have tried Onyx but it won't let me run it?
Any suggestions please?

How slow is slow? Your machine will never be as fast as it is after a fresh install so a minor slowdown is expected. What kinds of software are you running? Are you running low on memory?

That's Gate Keeper preventing you from running OnyX. Right click on the OnyX file and then select open. That should bypass Gate Keeper and allow you to install it. After installation, run it in auto mode after reading the introductory instructions.

FYI. Depending on how many hours each day you use your computer…and depending on what you are doing on your computer. Things like page outs & the swap file can get large in a short time…which can really slow down a computer.

Restarting/rebooting the computer solves this. I need to do this on one of my computers every 3-5 days (due to lots of use).
