My husband was on my computer trying to work in powerpoint, and tried to copy and past the icon onto the desktop. We now cannot open any of our microsoft office products on the mac. It gives us an error message stating that we need to check with the developer and potentially reinstall the application, but we don't have the original disk.

We're not the best with computers - can anyone help?

What icon did you copy and paste? Did you accidentally move the PowerPoint application? If so, make sure the PowerPoint application is in your Office folder.

It's in your Applications folder (see the left hand side of any Finder window).

Open your hard drive and look for s folder called Applications. There should be a folder there called Microsoft Office 2011. Powerpoint needs to be inside that folder. If you don't see the Microsoft Office folder make sure you are not looking at the Application folder in your user folder.
