I'm looking for the best scanner software for the Mac.

I have tried and had problems with Mac's Image Capture, as well as VueScan and ExactScan Pro. I also find that the Preview > File > Import from Scanner option is greyed out.

So I'm looking for other suggestions.
Thanks.

VueScan is the best hands down. What kind of scanner are you using? They might have their own software.

Another VueScan user here. I first used it a long time ago with a Polaroid Sprintscan 35, then when that died a Konica Minolta Dimage 5400 film scanner, Epson 4990 flatbed and an HP bus powered USB scanner. Vuescan performed faultlessly.

Another vote for VueScan. It is great and is periodically updated.
