Hello All,

I'm having a few issues with my Time Capsule since a couple of days ago.
my specs are as follows:

OS X 10.9.1, TC mid 2009 (flat one) and iMac 2012

I have my TC connected to a cisco modem via ethernet and the iMac is connected to the TC also via ethernet. I can happily get to the back up disc to mount via 'finder' and search the back up folders. However when i request it to back up, it repeatedly says it cannot find the back up disk. Very strange indeed as it was happily backing up prior to Feb 12th 2014.

The TC also extends the wireless network with my extreme to other parts of the apartment which the TC is kind enough to facilitate.

I have searched the web and tried all different things, but alas perhaps i need specific advise.

Hoping you can advise,

With thanks

When you click on the TM icon in the menu bar and select the TC does it state will back up in 100 or so seconds and then does it connect and back up?

Thanks OSXX. I have now managed to get the time capsule to find the back up disk but now it has been stuck on backing up 30 Gb for a 24 hours. It is stuck on backing up 623Mb of 30 Gb so i've stopped it. I will go through your link and have a peek and come back to you.

many thanks

OSXX, sorry it's taken a while to give update; work got in the way.

So i read through you link and i performed the 'erase disk' function. Well actually i just deleted the disk image and then went through the motion of adding another 'disk'. It worked! It then took a whole 2 days to finally complete the back up. It was actually longer as it got stuck for say 5 hours on 599mb twice so i stopped it manually. The full backup was only 1Tb which i felt was way too long. However, i finally stuck with it and it has miraculously worked.

For some other unknown reason, it also sorted out the 'extending the network' issues i was having with my express, so all in all, thanks for the shout and the link; much appreciated.
