You can use FFMPEG on the command line, but it needs to create a copy of the file in the process.
Mpeg2 is not very flexible. Depends on your reasons/needs but I'd consider reworking to mp4 or packaging into an MKV container which will leave the mpeg2 intact but gives you greater flexibility with metadata.
