Soon I will be getting my new Macbook :) I want to get a piece of music equipment to go with my new laptop. Its an Alesis MultiMIX Fire Wire mixer
www.alesis.com its says its compatible with a variaty of software programs but will the new MacBook reconize this piece of equipment? Will the drivers need to be updated for it to beable to work i.e. from the power pc to the new intel? Hopefully it can just plug and play but im not sure about this driver thing.

You should be fine, generally you don't need drivers for anything on Macs.

It appears that it should be fine, what audio programs are you planning on using with it?
