What operating system are you trying to boot the flash drive with? If it's Windows, you can't do it without a hack. If you're trying to boot OS X from the flash drive, make sure you created it correctly.

Simply put.... you can not boot Windows 7 from a flash drive. It can be done with a hack which we will not go into here. Microsoft purposely prohibits booting Windows from a flash drive or any external drive. It's due to piracy prevention.

There is a big difference between an install USB and bootable USB.
The install USB of 7 was meant to be installed on your internal drive in Bootcamp and never meant to be booted from .

If your MacBook has an optical drive, you can not install Windows 7 from the USB drive. What happened to your Windows 7 DVD? Boot Camp will only allow you to install from a USB drive if the machine does not have an optical drive - such as my 2013 iMac.

Yes, you're doing something illegal. Windows 7 is never available as a free download from a website. You buy it, install it, and then have 30 days to activate it. You can't try before you buy like you do with shareware. And that ends our thread. Please read through our Community Rules which you can find in my signature.
