• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I updated to FCPX 10.1. Not all projects appeared in the update library even though the events and clips from the projects are there. Any one have this problem and any fixes? I had all the appropriate volumes connected when I did the update.

You're not using Event Manager X are you. Tis hides projects that are not in use and FCPX update won't find them.

Updated to 10.1 about 4 weeks ago with no problems

I am not using Events manager. BTW what is the correct location and tree structure for FCPX projects so that FCPX can find the files. I have tried several locations including the root directory of a connect drive

Under the "old" structure events and projects were located in the Movies folder in the root of the drive.
If they were in different locations FCPX couldn't find them. With 10.1 that's no longer a requirement.

If you want to see how the new system should work check out MacBreak Studio. Thy have some free video tutorials on migrating to 10.1
