mavericks updated my itunes to 11, which I tried before and didnt like.

how can I get 10 back? I tried copying it in the finder, but cant'.

says I cant because itunes is required by the osx? this sounds like windows integrating IE into the OS so you cant' ditch it. :(

any way to get around this? id prefer the older itunes version.

thanks.

As you found out, updating to Mavericks also updated iTunes to the latest. And no, you can not delete iTunes and install a previous version nor can you install the previous version over the top of the current one.

What seems to be the problem with iTunes 11 that you don't like?

I think it would be best at this point in time to get used to the new iTunes unless you want to completely erase your hard drive and install your previous version of OS X.

Note go to view and select show sidebar since this is the biggest complaint to the new iTunes then it will be very familiar.

There are a couple of downgrade methods floating around the web. Some require getting a copy of the earlier iTunes from sites I choose to avoid. There is also this method from ars technica.

I haven't tried this personally. Although Ii didn't notice anything inherently dangerous in this method use it at your own risk.
