Is there a ways to permanently delete google search items? (Mountain Lion)
I've tried Google, but no luck!

Using Safari as the thread does not say?

If so go into Safari Preferences > General and choose search engine. Choice of Google, Yahoo or Bing. You may also like to search the 'net for other engines to use.

History > Clear Recent History. That'll do it.

Are you talking about the search history in Firefox or the one that Google keeps tied to your account? If it's the former, you need to make sure the following is checked:

I mean the Google Search Bar…not Firefox or Safari.
When I went to several sites regarding this..it seems as though Google won't let you delete anything. They say you can choose to have the searches "visible only to you."
I just hate having all those searches listed all the time.
I guess it really doesn't make a big difference…I just like "neat!!"

If you're talking about the Google 'Toolbar' - uninstall it - it should be in Firefox - Tools - Addons.

And just my own personal advice: never install another browser toolbar ever again - not from google, not from yahoo, not from anyone - ever.

The whole purpose of those toolbars are to keep track of where you go, what you search for, and then deliver ads to you based on that info.
