macbook runs slow

My 2011 Macbook pro is very slow to open programs: Firefox, Excel, Word. I've restarted, cleared caches, but not much improvements. Any hints?

Thanks for the info. The HD info looks fine.

- How much ram does your computer have?
- How many apps do you usually have open at the same time?
- How often do you reboot the computer (as compared to putting it to sleep when you're done)?
