I'm aware that My PowerBook G4 has been obsolete for a long time, but it has worked for me for a while. Recently, it's been showing signs of age.

I think it's time to upgrade. Should I save my funds for the Late 2013 rMBP or wait for the 2014 models to come out? Thanks!

We receive many questions of this type: Should I buy such and such now, or should I wait?

Apple is very close hold on when they intend to release a new version or refresh of one of their products. Our answer is if you need a new rMBP now, then buy it now. If you wish to wait it out and save your $, then, do that instead. Either way, you'll be buying a fine product from Apple and am sure you'll be happy with your new purchase.

As chscag mentioned…we get a lot of these questions. I think that here's the way I'm going to start answering this type of question.

There will always be a new model right around the corner…you just have to wait for it. So what I will say is…wait until new 2014 MacBook Pro's are released…then buy one. This way you will be guaranteed that you have the latest & greatest…with no fear that something will be released 2-4 weeks later.:)

Since you currently have a Powerbook G4. ANY new MacBook Pro (2013 or 2014)…will be a BIG BIG upgrade!:)

My new rMPB 15 is nearly 100x faster than my 2009 MPB 13 at certain video rendering tasks. Usually it is faster overall, but not staggeringly so such as this example. The video quality is massively better too. Any 2014 model will be slightly better than the 2013 but EITHER would be way better than your present rig.

Just got my rMBP 15 yesterday and I am loving it. I'm not planning to use it for anything intensive but I have a 2007 17" MBP and it was time for an upgrade. If you can't wait get one now if you can wait then do it lol.
