BT parental controls won't turn off - how do I clear the cache for firefox& safari?

BT parental controls were set at basic level but blocked BBC homepage and facebook so this was removed. The PCs linked to the homehub all have reverted back to normal internet use BUT my macbook internet access remains restricted.

Have parental controls been put on the mac itself through the Users and Groups prefs pane
