Upgrading Mac Pro 4,1

Hi All!

I'm picking up a used Mac Pro 4,1 tomorrow.

Aaaand, I know 2 things:

1: it does not have an Airport Extreme Card - so where can I get one and how to install?

2: the graphics card is in dire need of an upgrade - its an GeForce GT 120 - which cards will fit in a Mac Pro? Im going for gaming performance here
(bonus note: I'm kinda strapped for cash - so I can max spend like 100- 150 pounds/euros on a graphics cards, as long as I get an serious upgrade over my MBP's Radeon 6750m 1 GB)

Powerbookmedic.com is a good site...but it's U.S. based...and I'm not sure what your shipping fees would be like to Europe.

Radeon 5770 or Radeon 5870

Good luck with this. What you're looking for is a Ferrari on a Volkswagen budget. Video cards for Mac Pro's are not cheap.

Hi and Thanks!

I'm reluctant to purchase anything above 100$ outside Europe due to our insanely high import fees (can easily double the price :S)

So far, and according to GPUboss.com, this is the 7th best card (i think) that'll fit in my new Mac Pro:

Komplett.dk - ASUS GeForce GTX 660 2GB PhysX CUDA

and its even within budget...

Now, please tell me I've actually found a card on my own that'll actually fit (<- and work!)

Does it say that it's Macintosh/Mac OS X compatible? Purchasing compatible video cards for Mac Pro's isn't easy. Then when you do find them...they are not cheap.

No, but according to:

All Nvidia cards does not need to Mac "edition" anymore

As far as I know - its a matter of finding a card with a TDP lower than 225w
