Disk permissions

I am adding folders onto my server and it doesn't allow me to change the name once there but if I copy folder to desktop, change name, then add to server this is fine.

I have tried changing permissions on the server from No Access to read and write but I am getting this message:

"The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission."

The server we have was originally at another company and has been moved to new premises and the company has changed its name, could this be an issue?

Can anyone help with this issue?

It is asking for permission by a administrator. When your server appears on finder this acts like a guest drive. You will need the admin and password as you should see in the finder screen a connect to button.
