Macbook pro and sound link mini

Been having a few problems with my sound link mini lately when using it with my macbook pro. Its as if the music is being streamed over a slow wifi connection. It pauses, slows down and then quickly speeds up again. I don't get this when using my iPhone and resetting the mac seems to fix it but any ideas whats causing it in the first place?
