Hi.
If anyone can help? I've loaded PARALLELS onto my iMac, and now wish to load Windows XP. Whilst my Drive reads every other disc, it ejects any WINDOWS Operating Disc.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tell us what kind of Windows disks you're using? MS boxed? OEM? Sony, Dell, HP, etc?

And then the model of your iMac. XP Pro 64bit may be the best solution if Windows 7 is out of the question. Remember no more security updates in a few short weeks for XP and Microsoft Security Essentials will not install.

Thanks.
I'm using Windows Xp with SP2 and have also tried Vista Ultimate.
The XP is a copied disk, while the Vista is an original.

I'm using an burnt Windows XP with SP2 disc.
The Windows Vista disc is an original, out of the box.

Thanks,

Try the Vista disc again. If no joy it may be the optical drive in your iMac has failed.

I've tried both discs a number of times.
I can't see how it would be the Optical Drive, as other discs work just fine!

The Vista disk is a DVD isn't it? Have you tried other DVDs in that optical drive? Some drives will fail on reading a DVD but will be able to read a CD. Different laser light levels.

And there was at one time a security feature that prevented burning a copy of Windows installation disks, so copies don't work, can't be read. That could be the problem with the XP disk.
