Microsoft has decided to no longer allow MSE to be installed on Windows XP systems nor will any updates be provided to those who already have it installed.

If you're running Windows XP in a dual boot configuration or from a Virtual Machine, it would be a good idea to find another AV package to use. There are some which are free including AVG, Komodo, Avast, and several others.
