I don't have App Store on 10.6.8?

I'm looking to download/update to Mavericks from 10.6.8, but it seems I need an application called App Store - I can't find this in my list of programs... there's Automator and Calculator, but no App Store in between.

It's very possible either my girlfriend or I deleted the program many moons ago, regardless I need it back or else I can't update to the newer OSX.

Can I download this off my OSX disk? How should I go about getting App Store back?

Try downloading and reinstalling the 10.6.8 combo update from here.

Have you looked in your "Applications" folder?

Yes, that's the first place I would search. I should have said in my OP, but looking for an application in the application folder called App Store is a bit of a tongue twister!

Ok no problem, I had to ask. Do as bobtomay suggested...and try using the "combo update".
