The audio in my Macbook Pro sometimes becomes slow, low-pitched, and glitchy.

After restarting the computer, everything is back to normal, but it keeps happening every once in awhile. Any idea on how to fix it without shutting down?

What is once in a while? All computers need that reboot from time to time. My iMac for instance gets Bluetooth and Network touchy after a week or so without a boot.
