Is there anyway to reinstall the os on my macbook without loosing all my programs? If only microsoft office is preserved, it still would be okay.

What version of OS X are you wanting to reinstall? Without that information, it's difficult to give you an answer. Also, why do you need to reinstall?

But, yes, it's possible to reinstall the OS without affecting non-Apple applications that you have installed.
