macbook super drive optical device is not working keep spitting out all discs In the information on the super drive it says media is not present is the media the driver? if so can i download the media for the drive thanks new member

The "media" would be the disc (the CD or DVD).
It is not a driver.

It's possible you could be lucky and the lens is just dirty - you could try a can of compressed air - turn it off - shoot 3-4 quick bursts through the slot - wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.

Not lucky - the drive is toast - time to buy a new one - most of us would recommend getting an external instead of replacing the internal.

Replacing the internal drive is expensive due to labor costs (the entire computer must be disassembled). Use a USB external burner for the rare occasions when you actually need to burn a disc.

Look at a Samsung SE-208. Cheap, very reliable and bus powered from USB port.
