PHP with OS X

guys i used to use OS X server,but when i began to work with PHP i found out that i wanted to work with Apache server but the problem is that when i started Apache for Xamppe it didn't work as the OS X server it self is still working though i uninstalled the App itself,the second problem is that my Mac doesn't read .php files,by another meaning when i drag a .php file into my browser it show my code instead of the result of the code. hope you help me guys,thanks.

If Apache in XAMPP isn't working because the version with OS X is running, either kill the OS X process or don't use XAMPP.

Second, dragging a PHP file in won't work because they need to be served up. It's not an HTML file in that the PHP page has to be passed through the PHP application first. Thus, you need to access them through a server.
