I've been getting a warning dialog box on my Imac for a week or so. It's telling me that my startup disc is full. When I bring up "get info" on the HD it shows 499 GB capacity/404GB avail, 95 GB used. I've gone through files deleting but those numbers don't change & I continue to get the warning. Can anybody tell me what's going on? what will happen if I ignore the warning?

For starters...have you actually emptied the trash can? Putting/deleting stuff into the trash can does not actually remove it. And BELIEVE ME...this is not a silly question...happens all the time when this sort of issue pops up.;)

This may not completely solve the problem...but at least we know that the trash is being emptied before moving ahead with other suggestions/questions.:)
