plz sugest me what can i do

More information required.

What iMac do you have?

How much memory installed?

How much drive space free?

What version of OS X?

Is your iMac running normally and you just want more from it?

If the performance is degraded, what is running slow, everything, particular applications, web access?

If running slower than normal, any other relevant symptoms, freezing, programs unexpectedly quitting, beach balling?

You haven't replied to the other questions. It's impossible to tell if you simply want to speed up your Mac to run a particular application, or if you have problems. If you have problems we need to know what they are to be able to help.

Just edited this post. In the subject title you write "improve i mac speed", this is taken to suggest you have an iMac. The spec you've listed is for a Mac Pro. Will you also please confirm that you have a Mac Pro.

If it is a Mac Pro you have, and you simply want to speed it up, more RAM and an SSD boot drive will help.

Sorry arvind, forums don't work like that. We're not affiliated with Apple -- we're a community of volunteers who help each other. With more details on what you want to do, I expect we can help you as well.

We've learned that you are running Final Cut Pro on an older Mac Pro, based on your provided specifications. As previously suggested, adding more RAM and using an SSD for a boot drive are both things that can be done to speed up day-to-day operations for you. If you haven't done any maintenance, we'd suggest the free program OnyX (Lion version here) to help with that.

Beyond that general advice we'd need more details from you about your situation to make further recommendations.

And after chas m's suggestions a newer computer.
