I have a new MBP late 2013 model with 16GB RAM and a 512 SSD. It freezes constantly. I heard of reports where and EFI update fixed this issue, but my machine never had the update available.

There is no pattern of how I can get this to lock up other than it happens more when the computer is first booted - then as time goes on through the day it happens less and less, but it will freeze 8-10 times a day.

Here is the error log:

It is very frustrating. Does this log point to more of a hardware or software issue. I think I need to get it replaced. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Kernel Panics are normally with over heating on the graphic card or the CPU also the ram chips too. Did you buy from a Apple retailer if so return as faulty soon as.

There is nothing in that report that directly indicates what the cause could be.

Agree with leadfoot, would take it in to Apple.

Just got it replaced and this new one works much better! Thanks for the advice. When I called into apple care before hand they stated that this was a "collection issue" I guess it is not a publicized issue yet, but there must be a lot of reports of 15" Retina Macbooks (late 2013) with issues such as that.

I wonder how that many pass QA?

Not sure how much QA any company can really have that ships 10,000-15,000 computers per day...

'Tis why it is a practical necessity for any company to have good customer service.

Glad you got it taken care of.
