How do I program a 3rd party mouse's buttons to do things?

I recently bought a 3rd party mouse (cobra if it matters) and I want to program the 2 buttons that it has on the side (by my thumb) to switch between full screen apps. Does anyone know how to do this or if it is even possible?

Check to see if the manufacturer have a software solution. If not, you could try something like SteerMouse.
