Hello, this is my first post and I hope my last.

So, today I was playing a game and was getting tired of the terrible fps and mac related problems, so i decide to partition my disk for windows xp of a copy i found at home. So, I find out i cannot do this through bootcamp so i go to disk utility and select partition disk to 200GB ( i wanted only 100GB but it reset itself) I then click partition. When i went to force quit safari as I usually do when installing something but accidentaly forcequit the Disk Utility. I then go to my storage info and see that instead of around 250GB used out of 500GB, I now have only 10GB left and no partition also "Other" takes up nearly 366GB of space when it only took up about 166.

So can someone PLEASE help me retrieve my 200GB lost space!
And explain how i can safely partition my windows xp disk.:'(

Note: I couldn't do a time machine since i do not have any money to buy an external hard drive.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

You have made a bit of a mess of things.

Go into Disk Utility and see if you can get the disk back into one single partition. If not be ready to use Recovery to format thee rive and download Mountain Lion again from the App Store. Assuming this is a late model machine, XP may not install you may be looking at Windows 7 and Bootcamp.
