I hate to post this message as I think it is really an iTunes issue, but I've received no response to this question on the Apple Community forum.

The problem is that EVERY time I start iTunes without the iPhone connected, it thinks it is plugged in and wastes 2-3 minutes searching for it.

Can anyone assist me in fixing this issue?

In advance, thanks.

Do you have your phone set up to sync wirelessly?
Mine does this but it will find it and sync in about a minute and if I turn off wireless syncing then it can only be done via USB.
