I don't know what's going on with my mac-it seems like 75% of the time I put a dvd in it, it just pops it right back out. What's going on here?

What kind of DVD's are you using? Are these retail version movies and such, or are they blanks or burned copies of things?

It's both-for awhile my copied dvd's would work fine, now almost none of those work, but it's also certain retail versions. For instance, Donnie Darko is spit out everytime I put it in, but my Led Zeppelin DVD works perfectly well.

Utilities > Disc Utilities > Verify then Repair permissions.

Theres probably a conflict of some kind. That should hopefully clear things up.

Okay, so I did that, but the disks still won't play. Another friend with a mac said that it was probably just a brand that macs won't play, but I went downstairs and lo and behold, my dvd's play with no problem on our iMac G5. I clicked "verify disk" afterwards and it came up with...

It doesn't give me the option to repair though...

Is that going to clear off all the stuff I have on my harddrive?
